The future of print and digital relationships?

Really interesting article on Eye magazine's website about Colors magazine's relationship with the internet. It talks about using the website to invite unknown creatives from around the world to contribute, fun but nothing new. What is really fun is use of Augmented Reality (AR). "
It allows us to connect the magazine to the website, and to put video on the magazine page. This means we can bring the characters to life – they can tell a story, sing a song, whatever. We used it to add another layer of information, which is behind the magazine, which needs the magazine in order to access it. The obvious thing was video. It means we can have a still photo which starts moving, right on the page. It means we can hear the voice of the person in the photograph. It means they can tell their story in their own words. But you have to start with the physical magazine, because you need a printed code to open this new layer when you hold the magazine spread in front of the webcam "

here is the Colors promotional video clip, some 'homemade' readers versions of their experience is a little more crude, but either way its exciting
